Frankie Muniz Chooses NASCAR Over ‘Malcolm in the Middle’ Revival as Racing Goals Take Priority

Frankie Muniz is set to fulfill his racing dreams in 2025, driving the No. 33 Ford F-150 in the NASCAR Truck Series with Reaume Brothers Racing. Known for his role in Malcolm in the Middle, Muniz transitioned to motorsports in 2006 and has been steadily climbing the ranks. While fans eagerly await the sitcom’s long-rumored revival, Muniz has made it clear that his NASCAR career takes precedence.

In late 2024, Muniz confirmed the Malcolm in the Middle reunion is officially happening. However, juggling filming with a full-time racing schedule presents unique challenges. Speaking to Fox Sports, Muniz explained how the show’s production is working around his NASCAR commitments. “So, we haven’t filmed it yet. It’s gonna make my April pretty interesting ‘cause I’ll be commuting. They are working around my NASCAR schedule… So we’re filming Sunday through Thursdays with me getting Thursdays off to fly to race Friday to fly back Saturday to film Sunday through Wednesday,” he shared.

Muniz’s focus on racing is understandable, given the dedication he’s shown to the sport. In 2023, he competed in the ARCA Menards Series, earning one top-five and 11 top-10 finishes. His performance led to opportunities with Ford Performance in the Xfinity Series, paving the way for his full-time Truck Series deal.

Balancing his two passions won’t be easy, but Muniz is determined to make it work. While fans can look forward to seeing him reprise his iconic role, it’s clear his heart is on the racetrack. With his eyes set on NASCAR success, Muniz is proving that pursuing your dreams doesn’t mean leaving the past behind—it just means finding a way to make it all fit.
