Now, a report from Puck claims that a new Yellowstone spinoff is currently in development from creator Taylor Sheridan, although no story details have been revealed as of writing. The Beth and Rip-focused series is set to start filming sometime this summer as well, with the show also looking to cast an actor with a similar role to Kevin Costner’s John Dutton. The report also emphasizes the number of ideas for new seasons of ongoing shows alongside ideas for new shows Sheridan has, both in and beyond the western’s shared universe.
What Yellowstone’s Spinoff Updates Mean For The Franchise
The Main Series Was Just The Beginning
At the end of Yellowstone, Beth, Rip, and Carter go to Dillon, Montana to start a new ranch, leaving their old life behind to explore the new challenges ahead. The show filming this summer means it won’t be long until more concrete news about what to expect from the series arrives.
It will join the likes of 1883 and 1923, as well as forthcoming spinoffs The Madison, 1944, and 6666. These expansive plans for the series are seemingly just the start, however, with another untitled series also now in the works.
